This collection invites the spectator into a surreal world set both inside the physical body and also inside the mind of the subject.

The use of black and white spaces contrasted with the fleshy tones of internal organs help build and break tension, and suggest a realm beyond time. The vibrant blues, purples and greens allude to a certain innocence; a source of inner strength and comfort. These works are visual representations of how the internal and external worlds interact with one another. The artwork “”, uses a deliberately childlike pallet, the central figure a tree, anthropomorphizied with vein-like branches twisting upward, partly on fire, suggesting psychic fragmentation. A dreamlike scene that appears to be unfolding in the unconscious. Symbolically dense — grief, memory, time, and identity hang from the branches like offerings. These pieces aim to visually define those moments in which the ground you’ve constructed crumbles beneath your feet, encouraging you to turn inward, and question your constructed reality. In creating these pieces, I have challenged myself to find hope, wisdom and beauty regardless of how dark the circumstances may seem.
