Project: Attention By Luke Raphael Grove
“Attention” is an introspective project exploring the tension between performance and presence. Through the mediums of filmmaking and photography, Luke Raphael dives into the psychology of anxious attachment and the human desire to be seen—not for vanity, but for safety.
Drawing from poetic reflections like The Gaze as Mirror and The Tao of Letting Go, the work traces a journey: from craving the spotlight as a form of survival, to embracing the quiet rebellion of stillness. These texts became conceptual anchors, influencing how scenes were framed, how subjects interacted with the camera, and how silence was used as power.
This creative process has now evolved into the early stages of a fashion collection, where garments become vessels of these emotional and philosophical explorations. Just like the photos and films, the clothes aim to express a contrast—between visibility and invisibility, between needing to be held and learning to let go.
Limited prints from the project are now available for purchase.
