Title
Performing to an imaginary audience

Description
This project has enabled me to view life from a different perspective. I have been thinking about how entertainment surrounds us and is the very thing that keeps us feeling like there is hope in front of us. Through hard moments in life, I and many others use entertainment as a form of escapism and ecstasy from the normality and hard truths of daily life. A fantasy world which is created to cover up the problems of today's society.

Am I man enough?

Description
This shoot is about asking the question “Am I man enough”… through the eyes and perspective of a trans man. It seems as if trans men ask themselves questions like “am I man enough” too often. This is for a number of reasons. Societal standards force me to act a certain way as a response to the demand which is expected to be met. Normally the expectation is dependent on the context. Normally through an individual or a collective of men, this power play feels overwhelming. This is influenced through the workings of social psychology (conformity) which make people behave in ways in which they wouldn’t normally on their own. This comes from a fear of being left behind which is a natural instinct for humans to have; a collectivists mentality rather than being an outsider.

Confrontation of Fear

Description
This shoot is about capturing the anatomy of my body as a self-portrait but also capturing different expressions of the theme ‘confrontation of fear’. I want to be able to convey a sense of expression. The theme came to me as an expression of masculinity through a mix of my childhood and the way that I expressed my concerns and worries and constantly feeling on edge or paranoid about things but also the transition from childhood to manhood which I believe is a massive shift. There is a sense that a lot of men don’t unresolve some problems they developed as a child, which are then transported to manhood. This is why we associate a lot of the behaviors of men with immature behaviors presented from when they are a child having a type of tantrum. This is where the phrase ‘boys will be boys’ appears and seems to haunt women as the expression has become an excuse of mens bad behaviors.
